In 2002, Fastrak! had a dedicated team working on the
Camelot re-launch of over 75,000 permanent point of sale
(PPOS) items. This is the biggest re-launch ever undertaken
in the UK.
Each segment of the project was managed by a specialist
ensuring excellence at every stage. Fastrak! were chosen as
one of the 7 selected companies via the “tender process” to
be the plastic mouldings specialist brought on board to
provide the models at the initial development stage.
Our role was:
• To manufacture 1/5th scale models of the play-stations
• Produce a full engineering drawing to show how the item
would work in production
• Component part breakdown calculations of all the parts
needed.
Camelot could then give the go-ahead for the project as they
clearly
understood;
• the final output as they could visual the appearance
• gave the team clear guidelines for what was needed,
• understood the processes expected and anticipated costs.
Fastrak! then went on to manage the production of all the
Plastic injection mould tools, de-snag all tooling, and
source all the final manufacturers of the mouldings and
various assemblies. We ensured that all our suppliers
achieved their section within the CPA's to ensure that there
was a smooth process and so that everything hit the
production lines in time for final assembly.
We have also supplied for the Camelot; all pens, pen chain
retainers, hanging kits, Supermarket signs, and various
other parts needed on the project.
We proved invaluable in allowing Camelot to understood fully
what they were committing to - the output, timings,
processes and costs. And then in providing the technical
help, knowledge and ancillary items they needed.
Camelot continues to be a major client for Fastrak!
Our Clients
Fastrak! have already developed an impressive client list:
• They have worked for a major retailer as a trouble-shooter
with the installation of their new in-store fixtures.
• On new developments for both the big players in the
tobacco industry which are soon to be brought to market and
therefore still subject to a confidentiality agreement.
• For a DIY & Wholesale Retailer, they developed and sourced
dispensing equipment for all their outlets.
• The work on the POP re-launch for Camelot was a dedicated
year long activity for which Fastrak! were instrumental in
producing prototypes, component breakdown drawings, finding
moulding suppliers, and sourced all ancillary items direct
(see Case Study below).
• And they are currently in the process of creating,
producing the proto-types and sourcing suppliers for a
unique bespoke piece of packaging for a food manufacturer.
And all this is within their first two years of business.
